Views sought on the foot care support for people with diabetes in North Somerset.

People who suffer from diabetes in North Somerset are being asked for their views on the foot care they receive.

Diabetes UK and North Somerset Clinical Commissioning Group are holding two sessions today (Monday) to hear what people think of the support they receive and how it could be improved in the future.

The groups are hoping to reduce the number of diabetes-related amputations in North Somerset as figures are higher than the national average.

There are more than 140 amputations in England each week, arising from diabetes complications, but up to 80 per cent could be prevented through improved food care support.

The free sessions will run from 2-4pm or 6-8pm at the For All Healthy Living Centre, in Lonsdale Avenue on the Bournville estate. To book your place, call 01823 448260 or email south.west@diabetes.org.uk
