Major improvements to a village pavilion are being planned.

Cheddar Parish Council hopes to give the community building at Sharpham Road Playing Fields an upgrade with the help of a cash grant from the Hinkley Point Community Impact Mitigation Fund.

The council is seeking support and suggestions from residents to decide what to do with the money.

The improvements could include a bar and function room plus a large leisure hall.

Council chairman Peter Colton said: “The aim is to provide a versatile facility which could be suitable for youth and toddler groups, fitness and dance classes, choirs, U3A groups, parties and more.

“With the projected new housing growth in Cheddar, further leisure facilities will be needed.”

If you have some ideas about what should be in the new pavilion, then send an email to clerk@cheddarparishcouncil.org.uk
