Staff and volunteers at Weston-super-Mare’s People’s Dispensary for Sick Animals (PDSA) shop are urging people to donate any unwanted items.

All funds raised by the charity, in High Street, will go towards helping sick and injured pets in the Weston area.

PDSA is accepting CDs, DVDs, books and toys, as well as men’s and ladies clothes, shoes and accessories.

Supporters are also encouraged to sign up for a gift aid, which allows PDSA to claim an additional 25 per cent of the value of each item sold, which helps raise more than £1million a year for the charity.

Shop manager, Caroline Maggs, said: “We are appealing for all types of items, especially ‘bric a brac’, which are popular with our customers.

“We also need home furnishings such as vases, pictures and ornaments.”
