People on Weston-super-Mare’s Bournville and Oldmixon estates will get the rare chance to quiz police officers about their work.

The estate’s One Team is holding a community information event at the Bournville’s For All Healthy Living Centre, in Lonsdale Avenue, on March 5 from 4-6pm to showcase the work of organisations and other community groups.

People will be able to speak with members of the policing team, town councillors and Alliance Homes to understand the work and services they provide.

Support and advice will also be given in areas such as drug or alcohol addiction, childcare, housing and employment.

The event is free to attend, with refreshments available and a bouncy castle for young children.

PC Nick Falconer said: “The idea behind this is for everyone on the estates to learn more about the work police and other community stakeholders do.”
