With storms battering and rain lashing down in North Somerset for most of the week, it truly is beginning to feel like autumn has arrived.

Jane Roynon won a first for this single bloom. Jane Roynon won a first for this single bloom.

However, the season was celebrated at the village show in Redhill on Sunday afternoon.

The village hall was full of colourful exhibits for Redhill’s harvest fair and flower show.

The main competitions involved floral displays and vegetables, with several fantastic show-stopping pieces scooping the main awards.

Some tasty cupcakes were on show, with children were encouraged to get involved in the show as well.

Ellia Frost’s cupcakes, topped with a penguin, impressed the judges, while Robyn Thomas’ spectacular ‘garden on a plate’ exhibit won her a first prize certificate.
