Pigs might fly... but donkeys are probably faster

PIGS and donkeys will take to the race track to help raise money for charity.

Brean Leisure Park is hosting a series of race nights on each Tuesday until the end of August, with proceeds being dished out to local causes.

A spokesman said: “Pig racing is hilarious fun for everyone, but the ones who enjoy it most are our pigs. They thrive on human contact and get very excited by the crowd.

“And if you’ve ever found horse racing to be unpredictable then you should come and see how our donkeys behave!

“Donkeys will only do what they want to do - we’ve seen them trot to within a yard of the finishing line and then turn round and start going back.

“All the coaxing in the world won’t persuade them otherwise, and that’s what makes it all such good family fun.”

The first race is at 7pm each week, and entry costs £2.50.
