Police called after villagers report ‘shooting in pub’

The centre of a North Somerset village was closed off this evening (Sunday), with villagers reporting a shooting had taken place inside a pub.

Police were on the scene from about 8pm.Police were on the scene from about 8pm.

Police closed off Broad Street in Wrington tonight and paramedics were also on the scene.

Villagers said a man had taken a shotgun into The Golden Lion pub and a shot was fired.

The incident occurred at about 8pm.

Five police cars were on the scene but at this stage Avon and Somerset Constabulary have not released a statement regarding what happened, whether anyone was injured or if any arrests have been carried out.
