Man rushed to hospital after ‘incident’ in Weston-super-Mare High Street

There is a police presence outside Weston-super-Mare’s Playhouse Theatre today (Wednesday) after a man was found bleeding in the street.

The High Street between The Playhouse Theatre and Grove Road has been shut and officers are in the area carrying out a search.

Officers were called to the scene at 12.30pm following reports of a man seen bleeding in South Terrace.

The man was rushed to Weston General Hospital by the South Western Ambulance Service.

The man later discharged himself from the hospital and has spoken to the police.

He has made no allegation of assault.
