A TEENAGE schoolboy was allegedly stabbed by another student while they were on a bus going home from lessons.

Police were called to the incident in Winscombe at around 4.15pm on Friday, after receiving a report from the ambulance service about an alleged stabbing involving two 14-year-old boys.

One of the boys had a leg wound, and was taken to hospital for treatment.

Avon and Somerset Constabulary has confirmed the incident occurred when the students were returning home from The Kings Of Wessex Academy in Cheddar.

A school spokesman said: “The Kings Of Wessex Academy is aware that an incident involving two students took place on a bus last Friday evening.

“The academy enforces a strict behaviour policy and has high expectations for all students. In response to this incident the academy has taken prompt and appropriate action in accordance with academy policies and procedures.”

A police spokesman said the teenager had minor injuries, and was released from hospital on the same day.

The spokesman added: “We are speaking to all parties involved in the incident.”
