THE Highbridge police pod has introduced new beat surgeries with a monthly crime reduction theme.
The pod, based at ASDA in Caxton Road, is staffed by police volunteers and any queries, concerns and intelligence can be passed confidentially to them, with the local beat team being made aware where necessary.
PCSOs Sarah-Jane England and Pete Williams are now covering the area and will be introducing the cycle theft and security marking theme this month.
Sarah said: “We want to provide as much opportunity as we can for the community to be able to contact the police and let us know what’s going on in their area so we can focus our efforts on maintaining a safer, stronger neighbourhood.”
The police pod will be open on Tuesday from 3.45-4.45pm, Wednesday from 10am to noon, Thursday at 2-4pm, Saturday at 9-10am and Sunday from 2-4pm.
