A POP-UP shop has been nominated for a national award.

The not-for-profit Shabby2Chic Boutique launched on Weston-super-Mare’s Bournville estate in September.

It has now been shortlisted for an award by Procurement For Housing, in a category for community projects which have a high social value.

The shop was formed by a craft group based at Windwhistle Primary School with funding from housing associations Alliance Homes and Curo and the charity XTND.

The group upcycles furniture left behind by Alliance Homes’ tenants and sells personalised items.

The shop opens in St Andrews Parade on Wednesdays.
