Puppy rescued after being left for dead on roadside in Weston-super-Mare

12:00 17 February 2017

A pet was abandoned in Weston-super-Mare this week, after a puppy was found dumped in a holdall on the side of a road.

The eight-week-old lurcher-type puppy, nicknamed Nike, was found in Moor Lane and rushed to Green Pastures vets on February 11.

She was given a check-up before being taken to Buddy’s Rural Animal Rescue (BRAR) in Chew Valley.

Judy Bowden, of BRAR, said: “It’s so sad because there are so many people who can help, don’t just dump them on the side of the road.

“She’s a cracking dog and she’s got a great life ahead of her now.”
