A Puxton Park animal keeper is celebrating after he scooped a national award.

Wildlife enthusiast Joe Huntley has been awarded the Day Maker of the Year prize at the National Farm Attractions Network (NFAN) awards ceremony, which recognises Britain’s top countryside attractions.

Joe, who joined Puxton Park in 2014, collected his prize at a prestigious ceremony in Telford, Shropshire, on January 31.

NFAN praised him for his ‘extraordinary’ efforts.

A spokesman for the tourist attraction told of Joe’s ‘enormous role in steering the vision and future of Puxton’s efforts to promote farming and conservation’.

Joe said: “This is a truly unexpected surprise.

“I feel so honoured and privileged to have been presented this great award.

“With a whole team of day makers working at Puxton Park, we will continue and strive to provide unforgettable experiences for all of our visitors.”
