A Battle Of Britain Wings Appeal will be held by Weston’s Royal Air Force Association (RAFA) on Saturday, when organisers hope to add to the £100,000 collected over the past decade.

RAFA members will be supported by the town’s air cadets from 290 Squadron in collecting funds to support North Somerset’s current and former RAF personnel and their families.

Branch chairman Charlie Hewson said: “Our Wings Appeal is a vital part of the RAF Association’s fundraising efforts to support the local community. I urge everyone in the North Somerset Area to look out for people collecting as part of this appeal.

“For the past 10 years, dedicated members have raised over £100,000 – £10,000 each year. We know the people of Weston are always generous and we thank them.”

The collection will be held around the town from 10am-4pm on Saturday.
