TWO big-name concerts being held this weekend have prompted Weston’s police force to put a ‘raft’ of measures in place to keep people safe.

The McBusted show and South West Live will be staged on the seafront on Saturday and Sunday respectively, which will see the likes of Jessie J, McFly, Jason Derulo, the Backstreet Boys, Busted and The Saturdays perform.

Avon and Somerset Constabulary has issued leaflets to residents living near the seafront, giving details of who to contact if they have problems with noise, parking or antisocial behaviour.

Inspector Sharon Bennett said: “There will be additional police officers on duty over the weekend to ensure people feel safe whether enjoying the events, having a day out in the town or going about their daily business.

“We are sending leaflets out to large numbers of residents but we have a raft of preventative measures in place to minimise the impact on the town.

“We will deal robustly with anyone causing any damage or behaving in an antisocial manner.”

For information and advice visit www.avonandsomerset.police.uk and the force has given out a list of contacts if there are issues during the event.

For noise problems residents are asked to call 01934 622669 and for significant parking issues and antisocial behaviour call 101.
