Cleaners shut by fire - Fire destroyed a cleaning store in Portishead. The blaze at Cleaner Clothes Shop is thought to have started in a tumble drier.

Holly's 999 action after mum's stroke - Holly Timms, aged eight, sounded the alarm when her mother collapsed. To recognise her quick thinking, Holly was given Nailsea Town Council's community award.

Historical Tithe Barn wins £500,000 grant - Cash was given by Heritage Lottery Fund to renovate the medieval building. Town council chairman Mary Ponsonby said the work would 'save a priceless part of Nailsea heritage for future generations'.

Noah impresses Emma and Dustin - Flax Bourton actor Noah Marullo filmed with Emma Thompson and Dustin Hoffman for the movie Last Chance Harvey. The nine-year-old spent five days filming in London.

Wacky, wonderful world of books - Fairfield School pupils dressed as their favourite characters for World Book Day. Included in the throng were The Cat In The Hat and Sherlock Holmes.
