Commuters face major delays on the A370 this evening (Monday) due to roadworks.
Temporary traffic lights are in operation outside St Anne’s Primary School in Hewish while Bristol Water carries out work.
It has led to a two-mile queue forming back to the Ship & Castle junction in Congresbury and delays of about 30 minutes.
In the opposite direction delays are about five to 10 minutes.
The roadworks are the second part of a scheme which will see a new water supply for St Annes Primary School. They are expected to last until the end of the day on Wednesday.
