ROYALTY will be in town once again in June.

The Princess Royal will be visiting Weston on June 23 to officially open the college's University Campus.

Principal and chief executive Dr Paul Phillips will greet Princess Anne with several college staff and students, before leading her to unveil a plaque.

She will then take a guided tour through the campus' facilities, before meeting for a buffet and drinks reception with staff, students and local dignitaries.

The £13million college development accommodates more than 800 students and its arts, media and design and music departments, as well as a sixth form centre. It opened last September and offers degree-level education in partnership with Bath Spa University.

Dr Paul Phillips said: "We are extremely excited about The Princess Royal's visit and are looking forward to showing her the excellent learning environment we provide.

"She will meet with students and staff from across the campus to learn about the high-quality facilities, resources and teaching which our students experience at Weston College.
