Sam retires from school role

A MEMBER of Shipham First School’s governing body was thanked for her contribution to the organisation as she retired from her four-year role.
Sam Peake, pictured with chairman Tony Strange, joined the body as a parent governor in September 2006, and was chairman of the teaching and learning, and personnel committees.
In addition to her involvement with the school, Sam has been an active committee member at Shipham’s pre-school where she remains chairman.
She said it has been particularly satisfying being involved in a period when Ofsted rated the first school as ‘good with some outstanding elements’ and the pre-school as ‘outstanding’.
