Scouting runs in the family

A FOURTH generation scout is now an assistant cub leader after he was presented with his warrant.
Richard Wilkinson, aged 19, has followed in his family’s footsteps by joining the association.
His father Mike is the Weare and District leader and there is a long history of scouting in the family which stems back to his great great uncle founding a group in Wigan in 1908.
Richard, whose brother Andrew is also a scout, and fellow member Mike Turner have both recently been presented with their warrants, which means more group outings and activities can be planned.
