A SCOUT group took a trip to Number 10 this week, tagging along with a Somerset MP on a special visit to Westminster.
Cheddar Scouts were given a tour of Parliament, being shown round the buildings by MP Tessa Munt.
They also saw the Speaker’s Procession ceremony to open Parliament and took in a session in the House of Commons before standing at the famous Prime Minister’s door in Downing Street.
MP Tessa Munt said: “A particularly enjoyable part of my work is welcoming people to Westminster talking to them about the work I do and showing them where everything happens.
“I think it is very important for residents to come to Westminster and see at close quarters how Government works.
“The scouts said they enjoyed their visit and, hopefully, some might have the opportunity to bring other members of their families to Parliament soon.”
