An East Huntspill animal charity has launched two educational programmes for children.

Secret World Wildlife Rescue will run an under-five’s club and a Home Educators scheme to help children who are taught from home.

It will allow children aged five to 11 to learn more about native wildlife and the environment during monthly two-hour sessions.

In May, the charity will also begin running Owlets, a fortnightly session which will encourage children to learn about nature through stories, games and play.

The first Owlets event will be held from 10-11.30am on May 9.

Secret World learning and engagement officer Ellie Wallace said: “It is never too soon to learn about British wildlife and the importance of looking out for wild animals and their natural habitats.”
