A nine-year-old girl has raised more than £300 for charity after having a radical haircut.
Sky Galbraith, who attends St Anne’s Primary School in Hewish, had 30cm of hair cut off for the Little Princess Trust.
Her hair will be used to make wigs for children who loose their hair due to cancer or illness.
Sky had her haircut at a Worle salon on December 15 in memory of her granddad, Ron Giles, who died suddenly of cancer last June, which was a ‘shock’ to the family.
The youngster has raised £310 so far, surpassing her £100 target, with some money still to collect.
It is also the first time Sky has ever had her haircut.
Sky’s mum Helen said: “I am incredibly proud of Sky. She has done a wonderful thing, she always thinks of others but this was a very special thing to do.”
