THE winner of the 2010 Turnip Prize was announced on Monday (Dec 6), with organisers saying they were ‘delighted’ with the lack of effort put into the entries.

This year’s prize, which rewards art with as little effort put in as possible, was awarded to a group working under the pseudonym of Doug Pitt, with their entry Chilli n’ Minors - one large chilli, and three smaller ones.

Jo Paige, of Pilcorn Street, Wedmore, and one third of the winning trio, said: “It was a very tough competition, and we put in the minimum amount of effort, so it’s very gratifying to be rewarded.”
