Police have confirmed a man was stabbed in Weston-super-Mare yesterday (Tuesday) afternoon.

The Mercury reported yesterday how police and ambulances were called to Brue Close, on the Bournville estate, following a reported dispute between two men.

Police have today confirmed a 20-year-old man was stabbed in the incident at around 1pm.

He was taken to hospital with injuries which are not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing.

Police enquiries are ongoing and officers are appealing for witnesses.

A number of people are believed to have witnessed the incident and may have even filmed it on their mobile phones.

Anyone who saw what happened, or has footage or information which could help the police, is asked to call 101 and provide the call handler with the reference 5218159323.
