WESTON’S latest community team has stepped into action – town centre wardens.
The fluorescent-jacketed force patrols streets in the centre, moving on groups of youths and cleaning up graffiti and fly-tipping.
The group of six wardens are funded by the BID partnership - voluntary contributions paid by town centre businessiess - and will cost £650,000 over the next five years.
They will patrol in the daytime and assist police on busy evenings such as Friday and Saturday nights.
