One fire engine from Burnham was called to reports of a vehicle on fire in the town at 11.27pm.

When firefighters arrived they found a car logged with smoke and set to work extinguishing the fire using breathing apparatus.

About half an hour later the blaze was put out and police were in attendance.

Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service said the cause of the fire is thought to be due to an electrical fault.
