Teenager hit by car in Worle

A teenage girl has been airlifted to hospital after being hit by a car this afternoon (Monday).

Police and rapid response vehicles were called to Clovelly Road in Worle at 3.13pm following reports of a collision between a car and a 15-year-old girl.

Great Western Air Ambulance was called to the scene and landed at Becket Primary School, in Tavistock Road.

The girl has been taken to hospital for treatment.

A police spokesman told the Mercury the young girl’s injuries are not thought to be life threatening.

The road is still closed in both directions.
