A Weston charity has been given a generous donation from Screwfix so it can make improvements to its in-patient unit.

The Screwfix Foundation, which helps projects to repair and improve facilities for people in need, has awarded £5,000 to Weston Hospicecare.

Alison Sopp, from Weston Hospicecare, said: “The funding will be used towards repairing and replacing windows and doors in the in-patient unit. We’d like to thank everyone who was involved in the fundraising – it’s been a great help to us.”

John Stinchcombe, from Weston’s Screwfix, said: “We’re really pleased one of our local charities has been awarded funding by The Screwfix Foundation. Staff from across the business have held a variety of fundraising events to raise vital funds for The Screwfix Foundation, so it’s fantastic to see the money we have raised being invested back into such a worthwhile community project.”
