ADULT social care services provided by North Somerset Council have achieved a top rating in a recent report.North Somerset has gone from one star to three stars in just three years, putting it as the highest performing council in the former Avon area and one of only three authorities in the South West to achieve the rating. The annual performance assessment by the Commission for Social Care Inspection awarded North Somerset the stars for 'serving most people well with excellent capacity for improvement'.The council's executive member for adult services, Councillor Muriel Kraft, said: "This is a glowing report which recognises the sustained investment by the council in adult social care and the significant progress we have made in improving services. "It is a tremendous achievement for everybody involved and is testament to the hard work and commitment of our staff and the excellent working relationships we have with our partner agencies."The latest news follows the recent report by the independent Government watchdog Ofsted which found that services for children and young people in North Somerset are among the best in the country.
