Brean Play joined forces with the Salvation Army for its Christmas toy appeal.

The scheme aims to help provide a better Christmas to children in the Somerset area.

Visitors to Brean Play, based at Brean Lesiure Park, in Coast Road, were invited to drop new toys into the collection point anytime before December 12.

Between now and Christmas staff will be busy wrapping the gifts and distributing the toys to local children, many of whom have difficult family circumstances.

Mike Barsby, from Brean Leisure Park, said: “The Salvation Army does essential work supporting local families.

“This appeal goes some way to helping families in need enjoy the happy Christmas that most of us will take for granted.

“We thank everyone that donated toys this year.”
