Travellers which occupied Weston’s Clarence Park have now set up camp elsewhere in the town.

The group, which left Clarence Park yesterday evening (Wednesday), has moved into Baytree Rec, in Milton Road.

North Somerset Council has told the travellers it must leave tomorrow or face court action.

A council spokesman said: “The travellers left Clarence Park yesterday evening shortly after the direction to leave expired.

“Unfortunately they have moved on to Baytree Rec. We have served a notice on them to leave by midday tomorrow.

“If they fail to do so we will apply to the magistrates court for a hearing to get an order to remove them.

“We will look to see if there are additional security measures we can put in place to stop this happening again.”
