Tributes left after teenager dies in Weston-super-Mare

Tributes have been made after a young girl died in Weston-super-Mare on Tuesday.

A 15-year-old girl, whose identity has not yet been made public, was hit by a train at Weston Milton station.

Flowers, messages and candles have been left near the Corondale Road crossing.

Emergency services were called to the site at 4.30pm and blocked the train line between Worle and Weston.

A spokesman for British Transport Police said: “We were called to reports of an incident at the Corondale Road crossing at around 4.30pm on Tuesday.

“A 15-year-old girl was pronounced dead at the scene, her family have been informed and are being supported by our family liaison officers.

“The death is not being treated as suspicious and the matter has been referred to the coroner.”
