THREE men have been jailed for supplying Class A drugs following a police crackdown in Weston.

The trio – Julian Holmes-Anderson, aged 18 and from Weston, 24-year-old Ashton Samuels, and 18-year-old Matthias Alex, both from London – were all jailed for conspiracy to supply Class A drugs at Bristol Crown Court on Friday.

They are the last of 35 people to be sentenced who were arrested towards the end of last year as part of the police’s Operation Relentless, which saw the force tackle drug dealing and other related crime in the resort.

More than 100 officers carried out a series of raids on November 16, December 1 and December 14 following months of undercover work.

At the court on Friday, Samuels was sentenced to seven years and seven months behind bars, Holmes-Anderson two years and four months, and Alex two years and three months.

Detective Inspector Mark Rolfe said: “Of those arrested, 35 individuals have been charged with a total of approximately 150 offences - including supplying heroin and crack cocaine, commercial burglary, handling stolen goods and theft.

“They have received a combined total of more than 85 years behind bars.

“We are extremely determined to continue to target the persistent offenders who are blighting our local community.

“Criminals should be left in no doubt that we will be relentless in our pursuit, and that drug-related crime will not be tolerated in North Somerset.”

At the court hearing nine police officers were given commendations for their hard work and determination in the operation.

DI Rolfe added: “Community intelligence plays a key part in our work and I would like to thank the public for continuing to support us.”
