A BAR with a tropical beach theme will open in Weston-super-Mare.

Couple Theresa Wainwright and Anthony Ormsby will officially open Skinny Dippers in Richmond Street tonight (Friday) at 7pm.

Theresa said: “We saw the opportunity and thought Weston needed something different.

“It has got a really good feel to it.

“This is our first time opening a bar, although Anthony has always worked in bars.

“The building had been up for rent for quite a while, so we thought we would go for it and give it a go.”

The bar will be open every day at 10am, except Sundays when it will open at noon, while Theresa and Anthony see when it is at its busiest.

As well as the usual variety of beers, wines and spirits, the couple is putting together a cocktail menu, so people can feel as though they are enjoying a fruity drink abroad.

Theresa said: “We are looking for entertainment as well, such as drag artists, live music and disco.”

Weston artist Martin D’Arcy has painted the murals on the walls, which include images of tropical beaches and the Grand Pier.

The bar has a VIP room which people can book for private parties.
