Back in 1966, seven local hospitals administered by the Weston-super-Mare group and two by Mendip were considered for merger along with the integration of psychiatric hospitals into general hospitals. The hope was to break down the isolation of mental hospitals.

The first Hazy Days festival took place at Weston-super-Mare’s Tropicana at the weekend, filling the seafront venue with music and art.
