THE Tropicana in Weston is due to be the set of a new crime-thriller feature film.

Grey Fox is the latest feature film from Atlas Entertainment and acclaimed director Declan Whitebloom will be overseeing the project.

Filming will be taking place in and around Weston from August 24 until October 9, with the Tropicana in Marine Parade being used as one of the main attractions.

The Tropicana has just undergone a refurbishment and a new café, The Bay, opened last month.

Now the site will be the primary set for the film, which means a fairground scene will be constructed within the derelict former pool area.

The cast for the film includes Jon Abrahams, who appeared in Meet The Parents and Kerri Rangles, who starred in Changeling.

The recreational ground in Drove Road will also be used throughout the filming period.

The release date for Grey Fox has been set for some time in September, 2016.
