WESTON General Hospital’s main phone line is still unavailable today (Tuesday).

The main switchboard number 01934 636363 stopped working yesterday, but an alternative number has been set up.

A spokesman for the hospital said BT and Virgin engineers are trying to fix the problem.

Until the issue is resolved, the hospital has set up an alternative number, 01934 636304, for people to get through and talk to their loved ones.

A hospital spokesman said: “If people call this number they will get through. All we are asking is to please be patient, it will take longer than normal to get to you.

“Just stay on the line and switchboard will answer your call.”Otherwise, if you are in need of medical assistance dial 111, or if it is a life-threatening emergency dial 999.
