Police have released CCTV images after a man suffered from head and hand injuries during a violent burglary in Weston-super-Mare.

Two men forced their way into a house in Orchard Place at about 10.40pm on November 27.

They threatened a 51-year-old man inside the property, before one of the men – who had a metal object with him – attacked him. The pair then fled on pushbikes after stealing a carton of cigarettes.

The first offender was white, aged in his late twenties, and of a skinny build with stubble. He was wearing a dark-coloured bobble hat and dark-coloured hooded top, with the hood pulled over the hat.

The second burglar was about 5ft 7ins, of skinny build and was wearing a dark-coloured bobble hat, with a hood over the top. He also had fair-coloured stubble on his face.

Anyone with information about the incident is urged to call Somerset Investigations on 101, quoting the reference number 5216264022.
