Flooding in Knightstone Road, Weston

FLOODING battered Weston seafront this morning (Tues) - and one Mercury reader has captured this video of the waves wreaking havoc.

Water built up in Knightstone Road after rough seas, heavy wind and torrential rain overnight and early this morning, forcing motorists to slow to a crawl to make it through the water.

This afternoon the Environment Agency issued a flood warning (later downgraded to a flood alert) for high tides tonight (Tues) at 8.10pm and tomorrow morning (Weds) at 8.34am.

The agency has warned members of the public to take care when travelling near the seafront.
