A MAJOR search and rescue operation for a missing four-year-old boy has been scales down this afternoon (Mon), after police and coastguard teams announced the mission has so far been unsuccessful.
Superintendent head of Somerset west Keith McCoubrey and HM Coastguard sector manager Tris Newey made a statement this morning and released details on how the incident occurred.
The young boy has now been named as Dylan Cecil and the huge search was launched at 6pm in Burnham last night.
With teams from the Coastguard and RNLI searching the waters all night with no recovery, members of the police force and coastguard said the operation will soon be called off.
