A DEDICATED nurse at Weston General Hospital who has recently battled cancer received a very special surprise visit

Annie Muldoon, a Macmillan Colorectal Nurse at the hospital, was visited when she was doing her shift by ITV1’s Daybreak, who then rewarded her hard work with a VIP weekend in London.

Mrs Muldoon was diagnosed with breast cancer last year, but following major surgery and chemotherapy, she was back at work by the end of the same year.

The team from the morning TV show surprised Mrs Muldoon as she was doing her regular ward round, and then took both her and her husband Reg off for a special weekend in London.

The trip included a VIP visit to the play Jersey Boys, where she met the cast, a meal at the exclusive OXO Tower and a night at the Haymarket Hotel.

She was nominated by Macmillan’s Development Manager for Avon and Somerset Maggie Crowe, who said: “It has been really tough keeping the Daybreak surprise a secret but it was all very worthwhile.

“As a Macmillan cancer nurse specialist Annie spends her life caring and supporting people affected by cancer so there is no one more deserving of such a special treat”.
