Volleyball a big hit on the sand

THE volleyball on Weston beach caught the eye of some of the town’s keen photographers.

Some of England’s top volleyball players competed on Weston-super-Mare’s beach and Clive Furbank and John Stephenson both submitted some pictures of the event to the iwitness website.
Floral displays of sunflowers and colourful treats in people’s gardens were also on show, alongside some well-timed shots of butterflies at North Somerset Butterfly House, which were submitted by Natasha King.
World-touring festival Corona Sunsets, which saw thousands flock to the beach, also proved a popular photography topic on the site, with its brightly coloured festival flags snapped up by regular contributor Roger Fry, as well as many others.
Chris Day took a walk just outside of Weston along Oldbridge River, between Hewish and Puxton, and photographed some swans swimming along in the summer sun.
