Somerset’s famous cider-maker Thatchers held its traditional wassailing event at its Sandford headquarters at the weekend.
The Mendip Morris Men were in attendance, along with the wassail gueen and the green man as the procession made its way round the wassail tree to bless the apple orchards in the hope of a healthy harvest for the coming year.
Managing director Martin Thatcher said: “The wassail is one of the highlights of our year. It’s a reminder that cider-making here in the West Country has a long tradition, and as a family company we take our heritage very seriously.”
