A generous man from Weston-super-Mare has been springing surprises on deserving people from all over the town for the past two years – and now you can watch the moment they receive their gifts.

Stefan Clarke, aged 23, began surprising friends and family two years ago with spa days and other gifts.

What started as a surprise present for his mum’s friend on Mothers’ Day became a Facebook page called Stefan’s Surprises, where Stefan has been filming giving people personal presents they would never have bought themselves.

Stefan said: “I know an awful lot of people who work hard and deserve nice things but would never themselves expect anything nice.

“I always liked to help people out and I get a buzz out of surprising people.

“I love planning it, and getting everything together and going behind people’s backs and conspiring with friends and family.”

Last year, Stefan appeared on the ITV game show Tipping Point, where he won £3,000 and spent his Christmas surprising people.

He said: “I did a whole week of Christmas surprises.

“Before, it was just myself choosing people I wanted to say thank you to. At Christmas I branched out and people on Facebook nominated those they knew.”

Stefan’s personal favourite was a surprise for a woman called Brenda who had lost a treasured book in a fire when she was eight years old.

Stefan said: “She searched for 62 years and they had never been able to find another one.

“There was one on eBay for about £500, as it was all coloured in by hand.

“I managed to find one on for a lot less at £75 and got it delivered.

“The only person who knew was her niece.

“After 60 years she got what she wanted.”

Stefan has recently had another lucky win, this time at bingo, where he came away with £1,500.

He said he now wants more people to get in touch with him to share their nominations.

He said: “Around 300 people follow it on Facebook, but I want to help people from all over Weston.

“I tell people to come up with their own idea for the surprise, and I have had some creative suggestions.”
