EGG throwing, welly tossing and a tug-a-tractor event ensured Draycott’s Strawberry Fair was a big success on Sunday.

Glorious sunshine ensured a substantial turnout for the event on the village playing fields, all enjoyed with a diverse musical soundtrack courtesy of a selection of talented local performers.

Sideshows, stalls and rides, plus a fancy dress competiton for children and a keenly-contested skittles challenge added to the fun.

Of course, the eponymous Cheddar Valley strawberries – which the fair was first based on back in 1971 – proved a major attraction too, with hosts of visitors enjoying a taste as part of a cream tea.
