Two Weston youngsters organised an afternoon tea for charity and raised more than £450 as a result.

Elisa Main, aged nine, and Polly Jarvis, aged 10, decided they wanted to raise money for Breast Cancer Care, as both their families have been affected by the disease.

The two girls approached Weston businesses for help and received donations for the event, which was held in Severn Road.

Jane Murch, who is Elisa’s mum, told the Mercury she was extremely proud of them both for working so well together for a good cause.

She said: “Both families have had an insight into breast cancer so wanted to do something to support this charity.

“As a team they worked incredibly hard and highlighted what admirable young ladies they’ve become.”
