THE time has come to plant your perennials and show off your shrubs, as this year’s garden competition begins.

Weston Horticultural Society, in conjunction with Weston In Bloom, will once again be holding the contest, which is open to everyone in the town.

The appearance, tasteful arrangement, colour and cleanliness of the gardens are all taken consideration, as well as any special features – and are judged according to Royal Horticultural Society rules.

There will be prizes of up to £25 for first to third place, for the best large, medium, small and front gardens and £10 for the best hanging basket. Judging will be on July 18.

To enter contact Cynthia Filer on 01934 514057.
