Girl guides have worked tirelessly to create and sell Christmas decorations for charity.

Weston-super-Mare guides made some festive tree decorations and ornaments to support the Briar House animal sanctuary.

The girls’ hard work will also contribute to them achieving their Baden-Powell Challenge Award – which is the highest award a guide can achieve.

They must complete 10 challenges from five different categories, including healthy lifestyle, skills and relationships and celebrating diversity.

Some of the decorations were sold at the Bleadon Christmas market.

Organiser Jo Jones said the market was ‘buzzing’ with people this year.

She added: “Thank you to all the wonderful volunteer helpers and stall-holders for making this special market a success.”

Profits from the market will also go towards improving the village halls.
