A Weston charity is encouraging people to hold soup parties to raise money for the cause.

Weston Hospicecare has launched a new fundraising initiative which gives people the chance to invite friends over for a warming bowl of soup.

The Uphill-based charity will provide everything for the Souper Day including posters, invites and recipe ideas.

Fundraiser Sue Harding said: “A Souper Day is a perfect opportunity to banish those winter blues. Invite friends, family, or neighbours round for a bowl of homemade soup. It’s a chance to get together while supporting an excellent cause. You could even hold a Souper Day at your local church or community centre if you need more space.”

The soup could be served with warm, crusty bread or a glass of wine. To request a fundraising pack, contact Sue Harding on 01934 423926 or email
